The newest update of EMVS, version R.15, is available to pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers throughout Malta and Gozo. Read on to learn about the changes made in this version.
Important Announcements

When updating EMVS to the newest version, any POYC transaction that has been pending for 90 days or more will be automatically cancelled. Make sure to process or take note of any pending transactions BEFORE updating your program!

An important change to note is that the Batch field is now mandatory when manually filling in an entry.
New Decommission Warning Pop-up
When a transaction triggers an alert, you will now receive the new Decommission Warning Item? pop-up, asking if you would like to go ahead and decommission the item that has set off the alert, along with details of the error.
If you click Yes, followed by a confirmation to process the sale despite the error, please note that the information of the sale is logged in the Audit Trail as 'Sold anyway by User' and 'Not Decommissioned by User', and sent to NMVS.

Exercise caution when processing packs that set off errors. Remember you are responsible for whatever action you choose to take with such packs.
ReScan Enhancements
When scanning with your POS, the following alert codes will appear for these scanner-related issues in SIMS and POYC:
- A2: 'Batch not Found'
- A3: 'Pack not Found'
- A68: 'Batch Identifier Mismatch'
Besides being shown in EMVS's ReScan pop-up, any alerts save in the Audit Trail.
On receiving one of these alert codes, you can take one of the following actions:
Option 1: Visual Verification & Retain Original Scan
- Check the details on the pack and compare them to the scan's information yourself.
- If all the information in the pop-up is correct, click Keep Original Scan.
Decide how you wish to process the pack.
Option 2: ReScan & Act on Result
Immediately re-scan the pack. This can have two outcomes:
- The re-scan differs from the original.
- The re-scan gives the same error.
Outcome A - Re-scan is different
On re-scanning the pack, the information in the ReScan pop-up is different from the original scan. This re-scan is automatically posted. You must now decide whether to supply the pack or not.
Outcome B - Re-scan is the same
When you re-scan the pack, the same error as the original scan is shown. Visually compare the information on the pack with that in the ReScan pop-up. This can have two results: either a) Visual verification shows that the pack is exactly the same as the scan information; or b) Visual verification shows a difference that isn't being picked up by the scanner.
a) Visual verification shows that the pack is exactly the same as the scan information.
- Click on Keep Original Scan.

- The ReScan pop-up will close and a new entry will show in the grid. You must now choose how to process this pack.
b) Visual verification shows a difference that isn't being picked up by the scanner.
- Click Post new values as Manual and enter the data yourself. (Please note, the Batch field is now an obligatory field and must always be filled in.)

- Click Post new values as Manual again to go ahead with the newly entered values.
- The pop-up will close and a new corresponding entry will show in the grid.
New POYC Reminder
From this version, as soon as you enter the POYC module in EMVS you'll be reminded about any pending entries by the new Pending POYC pop-up. This pop-up opens automatically.
From here you can choose what action to take per entry - supply, cancel, or set a reminder.
Process an entry in the Pending POYC pop-up
Tick the entry in the 'Tag' column
- Click the Action dropdown and choose the required action.
- Click Apply.

- Repeat for each line in the Pending POYC pop-up.

You can reset the reminder for an entry in the Pending POYC pop-up for a maximum of 90 days. HOWEVER, if a POYC entry is left pending for 91 days, it will be cancelled automatically.
Preparing a POYC Client Entry
When preparing packages for patients on your POYC list, you need to create an individual POYC entry per client - NOT per day, month, year, etc.
- In the Details tab, enter the client's ID, name and surname, and pick-up date in the respective fields.
- When the client arrives on the pick-up date, go to the Lines tab and click the Supply button in the top right.

- Green (0)
- Orange (1)
- Red (2)
- We've split the Batch and Product states.

- EMVS Reporting: EMVS_REP
