How to Manage Barcodes in SIMS

SIMS provides a straightforward way to manage barcodes through its Support > Barcodes section. Here’s a quick guide:

1. Export Barcodes to Excel

   • Navigate to Support > Barcodes.
   • Right-click the blue rectangular button and select Export to Microsoft Excel.
   • This will generate a file containing your current barcode data.

2. Amend or Update Barcodes
   After exporting, you can make changes in Excel and then re-import the data back into SIMS. There are three import options available:

   • Import from Microsoft Excel (Amend) – Use this option to update existing barcodes.
   • Import from Microsoft Excel (Insert Only) – Select this if you want to add new barcodes.
   • Import from Microsoft Excel (Delete) – Choose this to remove barcodes from the system.
