Exporting or Importing Documents in Windows App
Using the Correct Redirected Path
When connected through the AVD Windows app, you must export or import files using the redirected drives. Internal AVD paths (such as C:\Users or Desktop inside the session) do not allow saving and will cause permission issues.
Step‑by‑Step Instructions
Follow these steps to navigate to your correct local redirected folder:
- When the Save As window opens, click on This PC. This expands all available drives inside the AVD session.
- Under Redirected drives and folders, select the (X:) drive. This drive represents your local machine mapped into AVD.

- In the (X:) drive, open the folder named Users.
- In the Users folder, find the folder with your name. This is your personal redirected folder, where you have full read/write access.

The X: drive is the only location where you have permission to:
- Export documents from AVD
- Import documents into AVD
- Browse your local files through the AVD Windows app
Attempting to save elsewhere (e.g., C: Drive, Desktop, Documents inside AVD) will not work.
