How to Export or Import Entity Details in SFM
In this article, you will learn about exporting and importing entity details into SFM.
The process is the same for both client entities and supplier entities. Remember to access Current Year > Sales > Client Maintenance for clients, and Current Year > Purchases > Supplier Maintenance for suppliers.
Before you begin, it is important to note that from the time the data is exported to Excel and then imported into SFM, no changes should be carried out on the entity details from SFM directly.
Exporting Entity Details in SFM
- In SFM, go to: Current Year > Sales > Client Maintenance. (Or Current Year > Purchases > Supplier Maintenance for suppliers.)
When the grid opens, select the Printer icon - you can find it in the left-hand icon list.
In the
Printer menu, go to
Exports >
Export Client Details.
The
Clients Export List modal will open. Under the 'Export Options' section, select
'Export client details in import template format'
and press
Export. (If you are exporting suppliers, the modal and option are labelled with 'Suppliers' instead of 'Clients'.)
Save the import template to your Desktop.
You can now open the template and edit it as needed.
Importing Entity Details in SFM
Make sure the template you want to import into SFM is saved on your desktop and closed.
In SFM, go to Current Year > Sales > Client Maintenance. (Or Current Year > Purchases > Supplier Maintenance for suppliers.)
When the grid opens, press the Excel
button at the end of the left-hand tool list, followed by Import details option.
A confirmation message will ask 'Are you sure you want to Import Clients details?', click Yes to continue.
Select the Excel template from
the desktop and click Open.
The grid will update with the information you added to the Excel template.
