Assigning Access Levels to chart of accounts
There are two ways to assign Access Levels to a chart of accounts:
To
a single account at one time.
To
multiple accounts via tagging.
When an
account is tagged with an Access Level, only user groups that are assigned with
the same Access Level as the account can post in that account.
Assign to single chart of account
To assign an Access Level to a
single chart of account, go to amend an account in your Chart of Accounts and choose an Access Level
from the bottom of the page.
Assign to multiple chart of accounts
You can also tag multiple charts of accounts and assign an access
level to all of them at once.
To assign an access level to
multiple chart of accounts via tagging, go to your Chart of Accounts, tag multiple accounts (by
using the arrow key and space bar), and then click on the Padlock
icon in the sidebar. You can then select the access level in the
pop-up window.
Things to note
Here are some things to keep in mind when tagging accounts with
Access Levels:
- Charts of accounts that do not have an access level assigned to
them are not accessible or visible to all authorised in SFM.
- If a user group does not have access rights to certain accounts,
it means that they cannot view
transactions or post into those accounts.
