The SPOS update includes visible alert texts in the new notification panel located in the bottom-left corner of the application window and an enhanced auditing system in the form of the Notifications page.
The SIMS update includes a new header menu titled Notifications—this will flash when the system receives notifications.
These improvements are designed to make you completely aware of the decommissioning status of the packs processed in your system. Both notification systems produce all the required information, including the EMVS Alert ID, that you must use as references when addressing any pack state issues with the appropriate authorities. It is your responsibility to act on the alerts or warnings that you receive.
On 9 January 2020, the Shireburn Business Suite (SBS) was re-certified as a third-party software provider for the European Medicines Verification System. SBS is certified to single pack and manual operations via EMVS, the inter-connected set of systems designed to prevent and detect counterfeit (falsified) medicines in distribution. MaMVS is the national system for Malta which connects to the European Hub.
The EMVS is an inter-connected set of national and international systems designed to prevent and detect the distribution of counterfeit medicines. The European Hub is the international system to which each national system connects in order to replicate data on the statuses of medicines in distribution.
