Installing SIMS

To install SIMS, follow the below steps:
  1. Launch SIMS.exe.
  2. Press Next and accept the terms of service.

  3. Select Install only on current user.

  4. Leave the install folder path as C:\Program Files (x86)\Shireburn\WinSIMS\. Press Next.

  5. Copy the data path from SIMS. This should be located where all Shireburn data is filed. Paste it into the path field and press the + plus button. The updated location should be filled in automatically.

  6. For the serial number and the serial key, these fields should be filled automatically. If they are not, please contact Shireburn support. If the serial number and serial key is filled in, press Next.

  7. Press Next and then Install.
  8. Once installation is complete, press Close.

Providing rights to the installation folder

It is important not to open SIMS as you need to give rights to the installation folder for other users.
To provide rights to the installation folder to your users:
  1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86) and locate the Shireburn folder.
  2. Right-click on the folder and select Properties.

  3. Open the Security tab and click on Edit.

  4. Locate Users in the list of group and user names. Then, in the Permission box, set Modify as Allow.

  5. Now you can launch SIMS, which should be located on your desktop.
  6. When opened, SIMS will notify you for an update. From this step onward, select Yes, and the login screen should appear.
With this you should have SIMS installed. If you run into any issues through these steps, please contact the Shireburn Technical Team.
