Error: "Somebody still using the system" being shown whilst archiving

PROBLEM

Error: "Somebody still using the system" being shown whilst archiving OR performing other functions in SIMS

ENVIRONMENT

Shireburn Inventory Management System

SOLUTION

  1. From Task Manager, go on the Users tab and check every user if they have SIMS showing. If yes, click on it and select End Task.
  2. You can also check from Computer management > Shared folders > Open Files.
    1. Check the list for any SIMS entries. If found any, highlight and then right-click and Close Session.
N.B Important that the replicator server needs to be closed as well. From Task Manager look out for sims plugin.exe and close any running instance.

CAUSE

SIMS processes or users might be still locking up the files needed for archiving. disabling from the process to continue further.
