Error: 'Create a Microsoft Outlook profile' when emailing a document

Problem

When trying to email a document through SIMS, this generates a pop-up asking the user to create a Microsoft Outlook profile.

Environment

  1. SIMS: when selecting Email in Print Options.

Solution

  1. Open Outlook and go to: File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings. Click OK.



  2. This will open a window for the Trust Center. Select Programmatic access in the left-hand list, then choose 'Never warn me about suspicious activity' and click OK.



If the above setting is greyed out, try the following:
  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Right click on the Outlook app from your desktop or when using the Windows search option, and then click Run as Administrator. Go back to the Programmatic Access Security option again. The option will now be available.


Cause

Trust Center Settings in Microsoft Outlook restrict access by other programs.
