Using creditor control functionalities in SFM

Creditor control functionalities in SFM

There is a combination of functionalities for you to use to help you keep track of important dates or notes relevant to particular clients. By utilizing the follow up field and the free text form in the Client Maintenance window, and by using the column selector and customization option, you can sort clients by follow up dates so that you stay in control of your cash flow and up to date on important details about clients.

How to set up creditor controls

You can first set a follow-up date in the Details tab of a client’s profile. The date you set here will appear in the follow up column of the Client Maintenance window (there are instructions below on how to enable this column).

Then, you can compose a note about this follow-up date in the Text tab. Top lines of the text field appear at the bottom of the Details window of a client’s profile. This is a useful tool for you to organize reminders and to-dos pertaining a particular client.

Setting follow-up dates for clients

To begin, open the Client Maintenance form for the client for whom you want to set a follow-up date, and then click Edit record in the sidebar.

In the Details tab, choose a date in the Follow up dropdown menu. Click Post when finished.

Enabling the follow up column in the form

After you have set this date, you can find it labeled in under the Follow up column of the data grids in the forms. You need to enable the Follow up column for the form. You can do this by customizing columns in the form and selecting Follow up in the Select Columns pop-up window. Be sure to save the form layout to have its current state remain for all future uses.

Compose notes about clients in the free text form

Additionally, you can keep a running list of notes about clients in the Text tab of the Client Maintenance window. Text that is written in the Text tab will appear in the client’s Details tab.

The Text tab is found within the Client Details tab. Click on Edit record to compose a note for the client.
