How to change an Expired Password for SBS Cloud-hosted Services

Password expired notification

When a user’s account password has expired, the following message will pop up notifying them that password needs to be changed.


Steps to change expired password

In order to change password, follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, in Incognito mode. (For Google Chrome, click on the 3 dots on the top right and press New Incognito Window. For Microsoft Edge, click on the 3 dots on the top right and press New InPrivate Window.)

  2. In the URL section enter the following URL: https://portal.azure.com. Enter the username provided on the day of installation into the required field and press Next.



  3. Enter the current password that has expired into the password field and press Sign in.



  4. On the next page, you will be prompted to enter the following details:
    - Current password (which is the expired password that shall be changed) 
    - New password
    - Confirmation of new password



  5. Enter the required details and press Sign in, then press No on the next window.



  6. You will be redirected to the following page. You can now close the browser window.




Update Remote Desktop application with new password

  1. To update the password in the Remote Desktop application, click on the 3 dots and press Refresh.



  2. Upon successful refresh, you will be presented with the below:



  3. Double-click on the Shireburn application, such as SIMS or SFM. When prompted to enter a password, input the newly created password, tick Remember me (if the option is available), and press OK.



  4. If the password is inputted correctly, the application will load and you will be prompted with the respective Shireburn application’s login page.
